Anyone who has loved an animal knows how unique this bond is. Unfortunately, we live in a society where a stigma is attached to grieving for animals so when a person loses a pet they often hide the extent of their grief for fear of being ridiculed. This workshop will examine the nature of human-animal companionship and the extent to which it is acknowledged and understood. It will also explore the dynamics of loss of a companion animal and look at ways to support people through a grieving process that is often disenfranchised. Hide
